Ed Robertson
Pop Culture Critic and Television Historian
Also known as “Doctor Rerun” (a moniker given to him by award-winning radio talk show host Ronn Owens of KGO-
AM/San Francisco), Ed is a nationally known author, journalist, and commentator who writes and speaks extensively
about pop culture, entertainment and media. His books on television include Thirty Years of The Rockford Files, a
behind-the-scenes history of the groundbreaking TV detective series starring James Garner, Maverick: Legend of
the West (“a notable work of television journalism,” according to the Nassau Herald), and The Fugitive Recaptured,
which TV Guide proclaimed to be “the definitive book on The Fugitive.” Ed also writes for Media Life Magazine, The
Wave Magazine and other publications; in addition, as a products consultant and writer for Columbia House he
selected the best episodes and wrote the liner notes for many classic TV series released on VHS and DVD through
Columbia House Video Library. After several guest appearances on Talking Television, Ed became a regular
contributor to the program in February 2006. Besides producing the weekly DVD report along with Frankie
Montiforte, Ed fills in for Dave on a monthly basis as host of the show. Among the programs he and Frankie have
